Gloucester Downs has breeding stallions, showjumper training, instruction for hunter jumpers, eventing and dressage. We have a Dutch Mill, round pen, indoor arena, two large outdoor arenas, a grass jumping course with liverpools,water jump, many banks, a grob or Devil's Dyke, Hickstead Bank, a race track, riding trails and more.

Training Center

Gloucester Downs is a fully equipped equestrian training center for both horse and rider. We would be pleased to help you and your horse or pony become the best that you can be. We teach all levels from beginner, to advanced horse show competition coaching. Horses and ponies are available for schooling to provide a full equestrian experience. Training at Gloucester Downs concentrates on the basics, flexibility and fitting a horse up gradually. The facilities are extensive, with equine clinics held frequently on such topics as breeding mares and stallions, in-hand horse handling, presenting a horse for inspection, Canadian Sport Horse and Oldenburg Verband events, showjumpers international coaching, as well as rehabilitation and alternative therapies to enhance your equine partner's durability.

Young Horses

We begin young horses gently, with in-hand driving and long reining then we back them slowly. They are fitted up progressively on the Dutch Mill in order to strengthen their back before they have to carry a rider for any duration. Programs can be custom designed for your horse's needs

Personal Equestrian Training

We believe in Personalized Individual Training for both rider and horse or pony.

Each person and each horse is an individual with a specific body type,conditioning and training level. In order to exercise the full potential of an athlete we help to modify the physical and mental conditioning of the subject on an individual basis

If you have dreamt of becoming a better athlete, rider or horseman, we at Gloucester Downs Equestrian Park can help you to achieve your goals. Whether you are a novice adult amateur rider and wish to get in shape, or you are a professional equestrian and want to improve your performance we have the technology and the training to help you.

We will help you to define your Short and Long Term Goals. We will develop a Personalized Training Plan that is both realistic and progressive. We will create a Training Contract to help you with the performance of the goals and we will guide and document your training and progress so that you have both a written and visual record of where you have been on your training path.

Like all learned skills riding horses requires a learning plan, instruction, physical and mental training, practice, evaluation, analysis and refining of skills. Whether you are a dressage rider, reiner, showjumper, hunter jumper or eventer, we can help you to improve your communication with the horse and increase your communication vocabulary. Equestrian Working Students

There are always possibilities for an equestrian working student. This can provide a North American learning experience for athletes from other countries or it can provide an opportunity for Canadians to train their own horse while they learn to ride to a higher level. Barn management, equine groom, ride and drive, learn under the instruction of a certified equine coach. Tuition rates available for various programs.

Students who wish to trade work for training must be willing to make a 6 month to 12 month commitment and must have a solid riding background that can add value to the horses and management of the farm. A resume with riding and personal references will be required. They will be required to cover their own living expenses.

From the U.S. Take the Coast Meridian/Lynden border crossing, go North on the road from the border (this is 264th Street) continue North to 64th Ave, go right on 64th Ave, take the next left onto 267th Street. We are the third farm on the right.
