Showjumping is the focus here at Gloucester Downs but equally important is the development of the rider as an understanding partner. Ethics, exercise physiology, interval training, progressive loading, cross training, and sports psychology are available as you progress through your development. The complete care of the horse and the use of a yearly training plan will help you to become the best you can be as a team. Jay Jay Rogers At Gloucester Downs students progress at their own pace. Each rider and each horse is an individual and the progression toward your goals should be at a pace that is comfortable. This varies with each athlete. Come talk to us about a program for you. There are many natural jumps on the grounds that duplicate the fences found at the top shows in the world on their Derby courses. Full board and training, clinics and shows, will help you to learn the vocabulary necessary to compete in your discipline. Training over the natural obstacles is only available in appropriate weather, but usually they can be used 6 months a year and there are two large outdoor rings, an Indoor, as well as hills that can be ridden all year long.
